February Columbia, MD Jam

March 3, 2010

Hey – Where Were You?

Just in case you missed the fun on 2/28 (4th Sunday of the Month), I have pictures of some of the great designs that we shared at the Columbia, MD Face Painting Jam at Fuddruckers.

Fishy Faces are my Favorite!

Michelle's Butterfly on Jenn's Niece

We started off with demos of full and half face butterflies and other winged creatures…

"It has wings, right?" -Amy

Some different designs for embellishing butterflies came up…

Jenn's Spider Fly

We used some inspiration pictures to stretch our Artistic “Legs”…

And we even matched some of the butterflies to what the models were wearing!

Go Flo! Go Flo!

Then Jenny and I demoed two different ways of cutting butterfly brushes – I did the clear plastic tape method and Jenny did the hair gel method.  The we played with the brushes and Metina volunteered to be painted!

Flo and Karen were the lucky winners of the butterfly brushes that we cut that night.  I hope you guys are busy practicing!

Metina - My Model : )

Metina was our vendor of the night and she brought Snaz, DFX, Glitter, books and other fun things for sale.  She even brought all of the DFX mini cakes for us to actually use and play with!  And I got 3 pretty new poofy glitters as a sweet gift.

Of course, I can’t participate at a Face Painting Jam without breaking out my glitter tattoos but – Lo and Behold! – I left mine at home!  Mary Melia brought hers though and she would have had to slap me to keep me out of it.

But she would never do that ’cause she loves me :)

So I went ahead and did some free hand glitter tattoos because I can’t help myself…

These Count as Butterflies

And then as things were winding down Carol Turman breezes through the doors and plunks herself right down in the middle with us!  She painted a lovely butterfly and showed us a fun way to blend on the sponge w/o reloading.

Carol Painted Me - You Know You're Jealous

And so this February’s Columbia, MD Face Painting Jam ended up being one of our biggest jams so far!  See you guys next month!!!!  Don’t forget your cameras  : )

Yay for Friends!

Awesome! One of my favorite birthday parties was the one my mom threw for me when I turned 7 or 8. It was a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party – we painted the roses red, my grandma sewed a white “Alice” apron for me, we played Croquet with inflatable pink flamingos + Nerf Balls + posterboard cards curled over, we decorated hats, we had a tea party outside. It was amazing! I hope Princess Hanna has a great time! These are the parties they remember most : )
